Melanie Colwell, CFP®, CDFA® joined Galecki Financial Management in 2005 and became a shareholder in 2011. She focuses on analyzing cash flow, risk management, estate planning and retirement projections for the firm’s financial planning clients. She also serves on the investment committee, helping to research and analyze allocation strategies.

Melanie has developed a strong reputation for working with women in transition needing sound financial planning and investment advice. She earned her Certified Divorce Financial Analyst™ designation through the IDFA in 2015 and is currently the only woman in our area who has this accreditation. This allows Melanie to analyze the financial impact of a divorce settlement and work closely with the legal team through the divorce process.

Melanie has attended a number of conferences and seminars geared towards addressing the unique needs of widowed clients. She has implemented a grief training program for the Galecki team. Melanie is available to speak to support groups about the unique financial planning issues facing widows.

Additional Information

Outside of the office, Melanie is President of the Board of Directors for Whitington Homes & Services who serve children and families in their homes that are at-risk or in crisis.

Melanie is happily married to her husband, Glenn, and the proud mother to their three children, Dylan, Dawson and Reagan.
